HOLISTIC STUDIO

Relieve stress with our Holistic Studio

Why yoga and pilates? There’s no doubt we are more stressed out than ever before. In fact, we are so riddled with stress these days that it’s making us sick and overweight.

Chronic stress has been linked to depression, heart disease, autoimmune disorders, premature cell aging, obesity and diabetes. Very few people are making the time to unplug and relax, even for just a few minutes every day.

The benefits of pilates and yoga are extraordinary. Both disciplines are integrative; associated with stress reduction, increased relaxation and improved well-being. They can be adjusted for a wide range of people, fitness levels and support the achievement of very high levels of body/mind/spirit fitness.

Benefit of yoga/pilates

Yoga is a conscious effort to train the mind to be fully present by controlling the body, breathe and mind in one harmonious moment. There is much more to yoga than bending, folding and twisting your body. With regular yoga you’re stretching and strengthening the muscles, joints, spine, improving overall strength, flexibility, posture and sculpting a toned body. Indeed yoga also stretches your mind by asking you to challenge your beliefs about yourself, your body, your consciousness.

Pilates is an exercise method designed to elongate, strengthen and restore the body to balance. Pilate exercises integrate the whole body to re-educate and restore it to optimum muscular and skeletal function. Pilates training is gentle and non-impactful yet highly effective in improving your strength, flexibility, body awareness and core stability.

THERAPY…

Neuromuscular Therapy

What is Integrative Neuromuscular Therapy?

Integrative Neuromuscular Therapy is a thorough method of rehabilitation from acute and chronic pain syndromes which utilizes specific soft tissue manipulation techniques, flexibility stretching, joint mobilization, neuromuscular re-education, client education and home care to eliminate the causes of most neuromusculoskeletal pain patterns and associated dysfunctions.

This scientific approach to somatic (soma=body) pain relief, balances the central nervous system with the musculoskeletal system, enhancing the patient’s awareness and adequate proprioception.

INMT is the perfect accompaniment to other healthcare modalities as it helps clients experiencing structural dysfunction, faulty biomechanics, and the accompanying pain.

INMT is used to locate and release spasm and hyper contraction in the tissues, eliminate trigger points; restore postural alignment, correct bio-mechanics and flexibility to the tissues; rebuild strength of injured tissues and assist venous and lymphatic flow.

The really frustrating part for doctors is that much of the stress patients experience is manufactured – the result of an increasingly connected society that has everyone expecting instant gratification, and instant results. Very few people are making the time to unplug and relax, even for just a few minutes every day.
